Saint Anastasie Sinaitul (approx. 630 - † 700) is one of the authors still very little known and capitalized in the Romanian space. However, his theological work ensures him a place of honor among the Fathers of the seventh century, together with Saints Maximus the Confessor, John the Ladder, Sophronius of Jerusalem or John Moshu. This volume contains a translation of his two collections of spiritual stories (CPG 7758), the authenticity of which has recently been demonstrated. The purpose of the Stories is twofold: on the one hand, the spiritual strengthening of the monks in the Sinai desert, and on the other, the fight against Islam, brought to the region by the bloody invasions of Arab tribes converted to Mohammedanism.
