An exceptional theologian and confessor of Orthodoxy in the dark age of the iconoclastic dispute, St. Theodore the Studite remained known in history, at the same time, as one of the main reformers of Chinovial monasticism. According to his impact, St. Theodore is today joined by other great figures of Orthodox monasticism, who, in other different eras, had comparable projects, such as Saints Pachomius (4th century), Athanasius the Athonite (10th century), Paisius Velicikovski (XVIII century).
