The mystery of kenosis in twentieth-century Orthodox theology
The methodology of Father Florin Tomoioaga is extremely interesting, because, after a patristic excursion, it starts from contemporary Orthodox theology, which is the core of his research (G. Florovsky, Vladimir Lossky, Dumitru Staniloae, A. Schmemann, Iustin Popovici, Sofronie Saharov etc.) and returns with firm steps to the Church Fathers, which is the criterion of more recent hermeneutical attempts. I would say, in other words, that it examines in this way the reception of patristic theology by modern theological thought. In the middle of this study are examined the chenotic theories of the sixteenth, seventeenth, nineteenth and twentieth centuries, and in the third subchapter of the last chapter,
