About patience. About adultery
De patientia (About Patience, c. 417 AD) is a work that stands out primarily by interpellating and paying attention to the biblical text. Dealing with a sensitive subject, the discourse of Blessed Augustine sometimes takes the form of a rigorous theological discourse, sometimes the meekness of a parental story. God's patience is above all understanding, it is infinite, unperturbed, while man's patience is limited and subject to chance. The distinction between false patience (falsia patientia) and true patience (vera patientia) is made on the basis of the human will from which it derives its origin: bona voluntas, of those who stand out by good deeds, mala voluntas, of those who commit evil.
De coniugiis adulterinis (About adultery, about 419/420 AD) is a work in which Blessed Augustine tells us about the separation of spouses, about adultery, about divorce, but also about the possibility of concluding a new marriage.
