The publication of the interpretations of the Catholic Epistles is a welcome addition to the other interpretations of St. Theophilact that have appeared so far in Romanian after 1990: the interpretations of the Four Gospels, the Acts of the Apostles, 1 and 2 Corinthians, Romans, Galatians, Philippians, Ephesians remaining to be published those in Thessalonians, Titus and 1 and 2 Timothy. It should be mentioned here that, with the exception of the interpretations of the Four Gospels, St. Theophilact of Bulgaria which were translated from the ancient Greek, patristic, of St. Theophilact, by the monks Gerontius and Gregory (Metropolitan Gregory the Teacher later), the others were Metropolitan Veniamin Costache in the first half of the 19th century according to the version of Saint Nicodemus Aghiorite.

The editor of this translation is Ştefan Voronca.
