Unpublished homilies. Two words about baptism
The Cappadocian theology had as its starting point the decisive contribution of St. Basil the Great, continued by the two Gregory, the Theologian and his brother, the Bishop of Nyssa. Their effort was so successful that Cappadocia became the guiding beacon of the fourth-century Church, eclipsing the Egypt of St. Athanasius and the great Fathers there for a time, at least as far as St. Cyril. St. Basil, as the one who set the tone, not only left his mark on the church organization, but also extended his faith and zeal, through penance, beyond the borders of the homeland, but also over the centuries. So it can be rightly said that the reception of his personality was largely due to the fact that he was for the Church a pillar just like the Apostles.
