Fools for Krishna and fools for Christ
This book is a slightly modified version of the author's doctoral thesis in Theology (history of religions) entitled "Devotion and love in Hinduism and Christianity", presented in February 2011, under the guidance of Prof. Dr. Remus Rus. The paper offers a comparative look at the biographies of two "fool saints", considered more or less "exemplary" for the religious universes in which they take place, even if they can not be considered founding behaviors. On the contrary, they do not seem to go beyond the stature of some syntheses of extreme religious manifestations that had been attested long before. These are two atypical ascetics, one from the Syrian Orthodox East (St. Simeon of Emesa), the other from Bengali Hinduism (Caitanya Mahāprabhu), exemplified by mystical fervor and noisy, sometimes violent manifestation.
