Catechesis on God's creation and His saving work
Why should we know how, where and why the world came from? That, knowing of the origin of the world, and all that is in it, being molded by the all-good Creator, we may understand the purpose with which He created them all, have mercy upon our Creator, knowing the true price of things, and with gratitude to use all that we have and that surrounds us.
Thus, finding out what the whole seen world means, with all its attributes, noticing that it passes with time, let us not relate too much to this rapidly passing life and its goodness, but to move from the seen and changing world to the world. the unseen, unchanging, and eternal kingdom of heaven, for which we must prepare from here.
Saint John of Kronstadt, Catechesis VIII
