We all need someone to trust, someone to love and who will love us back. We seek this not only to satisfy our own selfish needs, but more importantly, to fulfill our innate need to give love to others, as we are created in this way: in the image of God, Who is love. And so, we are looking for another person to whom we can dedicate our lives and give it unconditionally, loving in return, in the same way.
When we find that person, we cement the bond of love through the Holy Sacrament of Christian marriage. The Holy Spirit hereby means the union of two persons into one, a frightening intimate transformation that reflects and prepares us for our final union with God.

This book is aimed primarily at couples who intend to get married, although it may be useful to those who are far from taking such a step, as well as those who have already been married for several years. This volume is...

This volume is given in the hope that, by understanding what they want to accomplish, they will be able to navigate better together in their journey and enjoy a more fulfilling experience.
I felt that this book was necessary, because we see every day young couples, or experienced couples, who suffer so unnecessarily in their marriages. As far as we know, no one marries with the intention of hurting their partner. But people often end up doing this out of ignorance, and the wound easily turns into resentment, anger, and hatred.
Modern Western culture is dominated by the primacy of the individual over the role of that individual as part of a community. This has led to a strictly self-centered attitude in many aspects of our personal lives, a tendency that is certainly contrary to the message of the Christian gospel, which recommends altruistic, unconditional love. For the Christian, the only true fulfillment of his own individuality consists in the voluntary surrender, even with joy, of that individual self before God and others, on the altar of love.
