The genesis of this work finds its origin in the desire to shed new beams of light on a vast chapter of Romanian culture, respectively on one of the oldest and most important hearths of Orthodox religious music culture in Moldova.

The choice of theme and hearth of spirituality is not accidental, but took into account the realization of a cross section in the evolution of our church music from ancient times to the modern period, with its adherences and cultural extensions. At the same time, it is a concern from the years of the German seminary, when the first perspectives opened to me, only imaginary, through the model offered by my eminent teachers: Archdeacon Ivan Ioan, Archimandrite Victor Ojog, Professors Stefan Alexe and Ioan Serafimceanu, Priest Vasile Ignătescu, scrutinizers of the cultural and musical past of the great Moldavian lavra.
